Engine light

If the oil pressure continues to give you problems, there is a screen under the oil pressure sending unit that periodically has to come out and be cleaned or replaced. It get gummed up and blocks oil pressure to the sending unit. At least you know the system works, it is suppose to shut the engine down. The check engine light, just go to Auto Zone or a parts store to have the vehicle scanned for codes to see why it came on. Write the code, codes down so you can get more information on them.
