Battery exploed on my 2012 Fusion

Asked by Angie Mar 03, 2017 at 03:41 PM about the 2012 Ford Fusion

Question type: General

So as I was putting the key in the ignition, the battery blew up. We cleaned the engine, replaced the battery and the car was working fine, until the next day when it wouldn't start. I have checked the fuse box, the new battery, and cannot find the problem. Any ideas?

Here's a silly question, when you put the key in the ignition, do you have power? does the dash board light up? you may have fried the ECU, but before we get all dark, what happens when you try to start the car

Instead of shooting parts at it... put down your parts pistol.. and figure out y the battery blew up...car batteries don't blow up unless it's shorted to ground. Check the cables

When I put the key in the ignition the dashboard lights up, the lights and radio works, but the car won't start. Could it be that the acid got to the starter? I have checked the battery cables and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Sometimes the cluster goes bad and causes the car to not know what gear it's in. Does it show that it's in park on the cluster. Or show any gears when u move the shifter with the key on, also shifter can cause this concern as well
