Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 750li BMW the car red that the
battery need to charge drive for a while. Then it
stated to state that battery discharged while car
stopped.  I have replaced the battery and had the
alternator checked but the car is still doing the
same message and it is now five over 10 errors and
shutting off.

Funny you should ask that. Well I had taken the car to a bmw dealership to service and change the rear pads. Apparently my rotors were undersized by half a millimeter so the got me for rotors as well. Then I asked them to check the cooling system as I’ve noticed the water levels had been low recently and they found a small hose connected to the radiator needed replacing. No one told me the radiator also needed replacing so when I received the 5k bill I freaked. They kept my car for 7 days because the hose needed to arrive from Germany. If my car was stationary for 7 days there was a strong chance my battery could’ve died but who’s to know! Anyway I got the car back and the positive terminal under the bonnet was getting so hot in burnt the casing it sits on and the red cover. I returned it to bmw and after they diagnosed it they told me I needed to replace the jump start cable and get this the total is $ 4800 lol I argued the fact that the cable doesn’t have any moving parts and if it did I would say gee that was unlucky it broke down and pay but I don’t touch that cable and the only people that may have touched it would’ve been bmw’s mechanics. It did take 2 days of negotiating but they covered everything apart from the new car battery. Basically their was a short in the system and negative was touching somewhere that’s where the problem was and the only way to fix it was to change the wire from the rear to the front of the car. It fixed the error codes and the issues.
