wow- that must be a big motor home- is the MKX on a trailer or just flat towed? The battery is just dead or is draining for some reason- try a new battery, or just pull that big rig into a Lincoln dealer- it sounds like you have the ways and means-

I have the same issue towing a 2012 MKX. LINCOLN says nothing in its owner Manuel other than what we are doing. The dealer claims we should run a power line from the RV to the battery, but the base plate installer said this will burn the battery out. Another dealer said to tow the car in neutral while running, while another dealer said this would ruin the transmission. In other words no dealer seems to know what's wrong or how to fix it.

I tow a 2014 behind my MH (4 wheels down), the owners manual contains instructions on the MKX procedure. To avoid killing the MKX battery an aftermarket kit is available to run a charge line from the MH to the MKX. The kit has a line fuse and control box to protect from overcharging the MKX. Works great and cost approximately $100.

I plan to tow my 2012 MKS, manual says put it in park and switch key to accessory mode. How do I put it in accessory mode since I have no key, just pusbutton ignition?

You push the ignition button again it says Accessory mode. My MKX AWD must be in neutral with the Accessory Mode active

Thank you, I just bought the car yesterday and working my way through the manual. Is it necessary to buy the towing “kit” from Ford?

I bought the charging kit on line from a specialty product supplier LSL Products, SAN Antonio, TX, it is called a TOAD-CHARGE.

I have question for Guru5GJNJ. I purchased a MH with a 2014 Lincoln MKX. The previous owner said that I had to stop every 2 hours to shift the transmission from N-R-D-N. Can I go longer if I install the charging kit? Thanks in advance to you or anyone else that has the answer.
