My accelerator seems to be stuck on my 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. Any ideas?

Stopped at a drive-thru for breakfast
this morning, & when I took my foot
off the brake, I lurched forward &
almost rear-ended the car in front of
me. Now the accelerator seems to be
stuck, as if I'm flooring it. It registers
45,000 rpms in Park & Neutral, does
40 mph without even stepping on the
pedal. Anyone know what's going
on?

I will recommend to have a look at a possible stuck cable accelerator on the Throttle body. Move it and see if it comes back to normal position see diagram below.

Replace the air idle control. This happened on a Olds alero I used to have a few times. Sounds the same anyway.
