My 96 gmc sierra does not idle right when I start it but levels out after and it smell like gas why?

When I start it it takes around 5 to 10 seconds to idle right and it constantly smells like
gas I wanna fix it but what's my problem?

sounds typical of dirty/leaking injectors. try a sea foam treatment.
