Yes. A computer with "European" downloads has to plug in. Scroll through to 'power generation' and then 'replace baytery'. As the original battery goes bad the car adjusts systems to 'charge harder' in several ways. If you do not reset the computers it will continue as if your battery is weak and will overcharge, thereby ruining your new battery and possibly other electronic components. There are several videos on youtube that show thos. There is one in particular that is about 4 minutes long that clearly explains everything and shows the computer and the screens. Just did this yesterday. NOT a dealer reauirement but you have to know someone with the computer.
