Battery draining while parked (electricity not acid)

Asked by GuruB74MW Jan 23, 2019 at 04:18 PM about the 1982 Ford F-100

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My '82 F-100 will "kill" the new battery after only a couple days, unless I unhook one of the cables. Any clues? Thanks.

you'll need a multi tester to find the drain /short . If it's a large one it will be easier to find , if it's a small draw you'll need to do a parasitic drain test , I can't explain all the details involved in these tests basically if I have to explain them you're not prepared to do them .

Youtube and the net have tutorials on how to find a parasitic battery drain.
