I have a 2002 with a blown motor,
and a connect with a 2001 Vic motor
for 500$, I'm trying to figure out if I
can use that motor in my 2002 with
the same motor mounts

Yes, it will fit. Only differences are between normal (in ex. LX) models and Police Interceptors. They'll still fit, just slight differences in the motor, parts, etc
Yep agreed same thing drop it right in.

Check your local state police but I believe it is illegal to put a 2001 engine in a 2002 vehicle or any engine that is older than the car it's going into
I believe there is no difference in the least between the two engines, and it should still pass emissions tests with no problem. It is not likely that anyone will check the vin stamped on the engine to determine the year of the engine, since it will look, and be, completely stock.
