If the stop was hard, it may have tripped the fuel flow shutoff. It is located along the top of the passenger side interior kick panel. Reset it and see what happens.

If you accidentally put the vehicle in park before it came to a full stop you may have damaged the selector position for the gears on the transmission. This would result in a "dead key" where nothing happens when turned to the start position. Try placing the selector in neutral in the position and see what happens. Then try moving the shift lever up and down slightly while trying to start the car and see if it catches. You may have to try this for all the positions of the shift lever.
