2006 Town and Country will not start with a fully charged battery

Asked by Guru97FK7S Mar 05, 2023 at 06:56 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Touring LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello everyone, I tried all of your suggestions, my problem was first it would
start then turn off.  Never could get in gear to run. I took the battery to get
checked out and it was functioning 100%. The dash light, radio all that comes
on and stays on. I get no click at all, maybe a slight clunk when I turn the key
but it's like no power getting to the vehicle I think it may be starter, but with no
click what would it be?  Also, I notice when I put the battery back in the car
there was little to no spark on the jumper cables.

A start then shut off is a classic security symptom. Did your scanner show the system is active?

It does sound as if the security system is active and that includes the immobilizer that prevents the engine from starting. As GA said, have that checked. If not, your description sounds like there's a problem with the starter solenoid, that that slight clunk you heard..... As you're having problems with this, I suggest you take the van to a mechanic to have it properly diagnosed and fixed.
