2002 trans am headlight motor

Asked by GuruH4H12 Jun 27, 2019 at 09:45 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My headlight motor was making that awful noise, indicating the gear was shot.
I got a new motor and replaced it, but it didn't work. I triedputting the old one
back until a replacement arrived, it didn't  work, either. The replacement arrived,
it doesn't work either.  I tested the connection, It's not getting power. What's my
next move?

Does the unit raise up using the manual knob next to the motor assembly? If it does not, there is a problem with the lifting linkage. If it raises OK, then try cleaning the connector to remove any possible corrosion. If that does not work, you will need to trace the circuit back towards the fuse panel looking for cuts, breaks, or shorts (not likely if the fuse has not blown).
