Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car won't stop backfiring. Whenever I move the car and or when I'm
changing gears it backfires immensely and doesn't backfire in order, its all over
the place. Does someone know how to fix this issue.

This could be a lot of things. Without actually being there , and seeing the car, You need to check.-- timing belt jumped tooth, [timing gears don't go bad and there is no wear block ,2 rollers keep the belt in line ] converter could be plugged [ i had one broken and block the pipe. Ignition timing and vac. advance . It is going to take a process of elimination of what it could be ! My 92 Capri is now a MOON Capri. Do you know what that means?
