Driver side floor wet when it rains!

Asked by GuruDZDZYG Nov 13, 2023 at 02:22 PM about the 1997 Mercury Sable LS Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Put new tires on 97 Mercury Sable SW last Dec.  Immediately after, when it
rains the drivers side floor is sopping wet.  I have called around to get it looked
at and everyone is booked up.  What could have happened?

They may have put the vehicle on the lift cockeyed or something and tweeked the sub frame and opening up a gap even a little . Take a close look at all the body lines and gaps ,

Visit your local body shop and have them put it up on the lift to inspect the area for damage. When a vehicle is raised on a lift stress is put on the body. If there's rust underneath it could have opened up the floor, just by raising the vehicle. Find out what it will cost to repair it and go from there. Keep in mind that this is a 26 year old vehicle and the shop who put the tires on isn't going to put any money into it. Jim
