Can a 2005 3.0-liter 24v V6 be put in a 2002 COUGAR with a 2.0L and MTX Trans?

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2002 Mercury Cougar with a 2.0L and a MTX Trans. Can I drop a 2005
3.0-liter 24v V6 in and have it bolt up to the MTX Trans? I am trying to figure out
the best way to upgrade the engine and possibly the transmission as long as it
is a standard transmission.

the whole drive train should be up graded , you don't want problems down the line so a stronger motor will need stronger everything else , and all the computer(s) have to link up
