How do you turn off the door ajar sensor 01 dodge dakota

if you have closed the door in the past and the seat belt was in the door jamb you may have dented the door where the switch touches the door when closed. First, push the switch. if the light goes out then check the door for a dent in that area. Sisters car had this problem and was fixed with a rubber door bumper for a home cabinet door.
