WON'T START please help

Asked by Dustin Sep 11, 2022 at 05:19 PM about the 2012 Dodge Journey SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 journey a tree had fallen on it and it
sat for a little over a year. I decided to fix it. I put in
a new windshield fixed. The bumper, and
headlight. It started up fine. Then it just died. The
push brake in to start won't light up on my dash
but everything else comes on. A message on my
radio says to out vehicle in run and wait for VIN
verification. I put it in run and my throttle body
clicks repeatedly. And I let it set on a trickle charge
over night and it started it up. But it's doing the
same thing. And I bought a new battery idk if I
have a short. I just don't want to dig into all the
electrical if I don't need to. PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds like the security system kicked in, try the reset procedure in the owners manual, if that don’t work then the dealership will need to the VIN verification and reset.
