I was driving thru town and all at once the car
stopped running

Maybe you just ran out of gas. If there is a check engine light on, have it scanned for codes and go from there. I would suspect a fuel problem. Listen for pump to buzz when turning key to start. Pumps run off a fuse, a relay, a fuel pressure sensor, and regulator. If you crashed into something..... There is a fuel pump reset switch in the trunk on the right, behind that grey cardboard. Push red button down to click on. There. Now there's only 495 other things it might be.
