2010 Corolla front speakers not working

Asked by Chevette_2612 Feb 19, 2017 at 05:23 AM about the 2010 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently the front speakers on my 2010 Corolla stopped working both at
once.  I was wondering what could be the issue.  The rear/back ones work
fine.

They have been many issues with the radio used in your car, you can do one of two things, replace the radio or live with it....

UPDATE: thank you for your reply. SOLVED. The problem people are having with the front speakers going out is this. * The cheap factory speakers suffer from a problem between the wiring terminal (where the wire harness connects and the actual speaker cone. It appears over time corrosion or something micro breaks the tiny wire at the plastic bridge, designed to hold the wire as a strain relief. Soldering the wire is hugely impossible because there isn't any real access to adding a wire "jumper" SOLUTION: Purchased a pair of 5 inch round speakers new from Walmart. $25 for the PAIR!! 4-14- 2020 in the Auto Dept. Drilled out the old riveted speakers, and cut out the old magnets and used the frames as adapters. Conclusion: Yes, it's a bunch of work to replace the speakers however there are SEVERAL YouTUbe videos on it. Took about 5 hours start to finish. Needed a drill, several drill bits, some wire, soldering wire, some silicone and some metal screws. Having some shrink tubing is advised too. Using the existing wire within the car was fine, it's heavy duty. Tied into the wire pair heading to the original speaker. In the Toyota's, speakers go through a tweeter first, then to the door speaker. Everything worked fantastic and now I am happy!! Eric

Having the same problem with the front speakers. I installed a new radio and harness. Still have the problem. I will be pulling the speakers out of the door next and checking those.
