Serpentine belt replacement

Asked by GuruCV7QV Feb 18, 2019 at 01:17 PM about the 2008 Mercury Milan I4 Premier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've installed new serpentine belt on my
Milan but it's a little loose still.   Could it be
I need to adjust alternator to take up slack
or could it be my tensioner pulley?    I'm
uncertain what made it come off in the
first place.  I was stuck in the snow
rocking car back n fourth then finally got
unstuck then me , my daughter and
granddaughter where heading to the store
& I smelt coolant so I pulled into parking
lot & checked things out under hood &
that's when I noticed belt had came off.
