No reverse in a 4l80e transmission

I have a 1995 chevy k2500 with a 350 with a stage
two cam that runs rich and 4l80e transmission. I
got the transmission from a wrecking yard due to
the original having a broken valve body bolt and
everything worked great the day I put it in, yet two
days later reverse is the only thing that has gone
out, it shifts through all the other gears just fine,
just no reverse. So I'm wondering if the reverse
servo or something else simple is bad or am I
looking at doing a complete rebuild? Mind the used
transmission only has about 100k on it.

At a hundred-thousand miles, that trans might be shot. I wouldn't install a used trans without first doing a very detailed inspection. Otherwise, how could you know what condition its in? If you're lucky, maybe the trans is just dirty and a flush will fix it. Low and dirty fluid is the most frequent cause of reverse not working.

Used transmissions are a shot in the dark. Usually no reverse means a broken band inside the transmission. But a good transmission shop can do stand alone tests to determine if it is internal or electronic.
