How to start or fix problems

2005 dodge 3500 5.8 diesel will crank but no start .
Batteries were removed while running and died . Cluster
gauges don't work the fuel pump not working.  All lights
on cluster work as well as the lights on truck . The radio,
locks, wipers work fine .

I'm sorry, it's a 5.9 diesel 6 speed man. 245.000 miles owned from New everything works and still gets 23 mpg at 70 until this happened.

When batteries are removed from a running vehicle the alternator will spike voltage causing burn outs in electronics. So basically you caused yourself a big problem, check for blown fuses first, if you don't find any blown then you would probably be better off towing it to your favorite shop and have them find out just how many components burnt out. Be honest and up front and tell them what you did, this will help with diagnostics. Prepare yourself as it most likely will be a hit on your budget
