2004 Ram 1500 constantly draining

Asked by Isaac Nov 23, 2020 at 11:45 AM about the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

Every morning when I go to start my truck I hear a constant clicking noise
coming from under the hood. My battery is always dead and I have to jump it. I
have replaced the alternator and the IPM yesterday and same thing happened
this morning. Any advice will help...

make sure batt terminals are tight . If the new alternator was a bargain rebuild and had to charge a dead battery then that may have ruined it If alt. and batt are good then you probably have a parasitic drain or something left on , the clicking is the solenoid on the starter , .

Cold weather kills batteries. If your battery is more than 3 years old it is suspect.

Actually hot weather kills batteries, but they show up bad when the weather gets cold due to extra demand that is put on them to start a cold engine.
