Message center has no display but all fuses look
good, could it be a control module somewhere?

Yes it is most likely a control module somewhere. I have a 1981 Lincoln Continental Mark 6 & it's for sale too! I found my module on eBay just bought it today 1980-81 Lincoln Mark Message Center Module ECU E0LF-10D893 this is the part # just look up your year make & model and put message center in the Google search see what happens good luck!
