Is my battery being drained?

Asked by Giovanna Oct 17, 2020 at 06:41 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed my battery about a month ago after my
car wouldn't start and found out the battery was 3
yrs old. A week later my car died again but started
after a jump. Now a month later same thing is
happening. Car died and started with a jump. But
then 10min later I shut the car off and tried turning
it on again but wouldn't start. Nothing happens,
doesnt turn over. I move the wires terminals and
my dashboard turns on, power locks work, and car
door chimes but when I try to start it doesn't and
just completely dies again. What could this be? Is it
possible the battery wasn't installed properly?

Check your alternator and the wires and connections between the alternator and battery.

Make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. Have someone check the alternator output voltage.

There's a plastic piece between your break pedal and the lever (sorry I don't know what it's is called) but it causes your break lights to stay on and drain the battery. It happened to me where the piece broke and then it happened to my husband lol. It's like a bushing or washer something. There are a lot of videos on it. It saved me a lot of money because the plastic piece was like 2.00 dollars.
