Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 Nissan 240sx se. It's been an oval track race car for most of it's life. It has an automatic transmission in it but all of the wires to it are cut. I have 2 forward gears, neutral, reverse and park. My question is what gear is this thing running in when the shifter is suppose to be in first and what gear is it running in when it's suppose to be in drive. It feels like it starts in 2nd gear and when the shifter is moved up one it's in third. Moving it into drive doesn't seem to shift it up again.

1 Answer

Sounds like the transmission was converted to manual operation. If this car was only run on a tight track it may only have 2 forward gears.
