Engine light

Asked by dbenso Jul 23, 2019 at 10:19 PM about the 2008 Dodge Challenger

Question type: General

I was driving in 101 degree heat, I had my air
conditioner on traveling about 75 mph. My engine
light began intermittently flashing and the car
began shaking. I immediately turned off the AC
and slowed down. Within 1 to 2 minutes my car
was back to normal. Was the heat, speed,  and air
a factor?

It sounds like a misfire. Pulling the trouble code would the first step in figuring out the issue.

Heat, speed and the AC could contribute to the misfire and the engine light but the root cause is something like bad spark plugs, a partially plugged catalytic converter or dozens of other things. The extra load made it come to a head. We need the actual trouble codes to diagnose the issue.
