I have a 89 GMC suburban 4x4 1/2 ton what is the differance between V1500 & R1500

I want to buy a crate motor and they are asking is it a V1500 or R1500 and i can't find that information ant where what is the differance. I know it is a 1500 but don't know if it is a V or R 1500

contact a dealer parts department and give them the vin. they will be able to tell you all the information you could require.

V1500 is a 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton R1500 us a 4 wheel drive
