Reviews SummaryDodge is down to only two cars and one SUV. None have seen a ground-up redesign in 10 years. The Challenger is riding on the same 1990s-era Mercedes chassis as when the muscle car debuted in 2008. But amazingly, the Dodge lineup isn't entirely backward. The Challenger is more of a legend in 2021 than any muscle car claimed to be in the 1970s. It is a single-minded sled of straight-line speed that has aged, for all the better, into a serious, high-tech dragster. Selling the Challenger as a silly, loudmouthed idiot of a car isn't some marketing ploy—it's the real thing and it's why Dodge can afford to build only three vehicles. The Challenger, like all passions that override logic, is brilliantly executed in thought and hopelessly flawed as a car. If it's for you, you'll know. | |
