Aside from some added colors, there are few changes for the 2000 Dodge Caravan. In base models, a tape player and air conditioner are now standard. Some models offer an optional rear seat video system. A new Sport model, available only in an extended wheelbase, has AWD, a 3.8-liter V6, fog lights, and a rear spoiler.
The Dodge Caravan comes in every trim and engine type to suit both the driving and financial needs of its customers. The base model has 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder, 3-speed automatic as standard, with the 3.0 and 3.3-liter V6, 4-speed automatic optional. The more powerful engines are available in the SE and LE trims. The extended wheelbase Grand Caravans feature 3.0-liter V6 in base models and 3.3 and 3.8-liter optional for higher trims. The 3.8-liter is standard on the Grand Caravan ES. The Flexible Fuel Vehicle, which can run on a combination of ethanol and gas, is available in the Grand Caravan SE and ES models.

An over all good vehicle. Solid performance for the task at hand. Plenty of room for 8 passengers, or you can remove the rear seats for additional space to haul larger items or to make a work truck out of this vehicle. Oct 28, 2013

Overall great wish it had leather seating. But I love that both doors can open with out disturbing anyone very roomy and clean this is the perfect car for a large or small family kid friendly and very safe. Thank u Aug 21, 2013

Style, handling, overall feel are all real good. Lots of passenger and cargo space, including roof rack. Removable seats allow you to tailor your passenger and cargo space to your personal needs. I also like the storage drawer and console space.Aug 13, 2012

Comfortable on long trips. Room for 7 and all the camping and sports gear we needed. Dealer installed luggage rack. Car serviced on a regular basis. This car has never given us any problems. It has been a very good car for us. Spent a lot of family time in this car. Happy memories.Jun 03, 2012

I like this car becauseit fits all 3 kids and we are all comfortable it doesnt have air right now but its nice and gets good gas milage. Its fun to drive cause there is plentyof room. It fits all the groceries and the kids and my books for school. plus if we have to go anywhere we can just loadup and go.May 21, 2011

its a caravan, not grand just regular so no rear a/c or heat. not much leg room for the rear seat so i removed it. i also replaced the center bench with captains chairs from a 97 town and countryAug 21, 2010

I bought this thing for my wife and the tranny failed before I had a chance to put new tags on it. Obviously designed for a woman, my wife would be better to ask about this thing. It drove OK but I'vfe driven better.Jun 25, 2009

It's the caravan, many good times in this van. The van
is a very nice vehicle for transportation of a number of
people or any large goods. Gas on this car is decent,
it gets about 20 miles per gallon which is pretty good
for a van. The sound system that is upgradable is a
very nice one of bose. Alignment on this car needs to
be maintained though, the van overall is pretty good

This van has it all: convenience, performance , space and good looks. I am pleasantly surprised at it's reliability, since Consumer Reports seems to rate this as a mediocre "grocery getter". It is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned.Jan 13, 2008

We have owned this van for 5 years and put 80,000 miles on it. It starts every time, runs beautifully and averages 21mpg in all driving conditions. We have hauled the basketball, baseball and soccer team all over Louisiana. All 7 passengers are) comfortable. The van is quiet and solid. The V-6 is smooth and powerful.It has been in the shop only twice, once to change out the transmission computer module ($600) and the A/C condensor (under the dash-$1177) No other repairs. Interior/Instrument panel lights gone dark after removal of radio
I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan. (Not Grand Caravan). I decided to upgrade the factory installed radio with a new system. All I did was remove the stereo from the dash, unplug the harness and antennae & remove the wires from the harness. Now, several things have stopped working simultaneously: The instrument panel lights do not work at all; all internal lights will only turn on when the ignition is on & the open door chime does not sound, but the digital odometer and gear box lights work, the cigarette lighter works. All fuses (both inside & outside fuse boxes) are intact. How do I fix this?
