The 1995 Toyota Celica saw the return of the convertible, which was built off the GT couple.
In addition to the convertible GT, the 1995 Toyota Celica came in two body styles, the coupe and the hatchback, both of which came in the ST and GT trim levels. The ST had a 1.8-liter, 110-horsepower engine, and the GT engine stuck with the same fifth generation engine at 2.2 liters and 130 horsepower. Fuel economy was about 26-34 mpg.
Drivers of the 1995 Toyota Celica adore the looks of the car and say they get many compliments even ten years after it was produced. Many drivers find the car uncomfortable for larger people, especially in the back seat, and there are a lot of complaints about the lack of power, especially in the ST model. But some owners believe with a few mods this car can become faster than a BMW M3.

My favorite option is that it is 5-speed manual - they're getting so hard to find these days. Parts and maintenance for this car are one of the lowest you can find. The torque is still on point and can keep up with most 6 cylinder cars. Steering is still tight and responds beautifully. I was able to go on a tank of gas for two weeks - major money savings these days. The bass from the system provides a nice massage after a stressful day.Aug 30, 2013

This car lives in WA state, but is a frequent visitor to Oregon, Nevada, and California. She loves the road, and takes really good care of me, while providing unforgettable memories.
I can always count on her getting me places, and if ever she does not feel good, it takes very little time and money to get her back up to speed. She is a keeper. Mar 04, 2013

Really accesible price, great handling, asome sound, nice sport apperance, easily tunneable with many accesories and really fun to drive. Alltrought, braking get really hot, interior should be cover with leather, unconfortable back seats and is a really common car.Nov 02, 2011

Performance: Feels fast but isn't that quick, brakes Ok, Handles very nicely.
Build Quality: Very Good, even air con and electric folding mirrors worked.
Appearence: Looks the part. Nice Bodykit on this model
Cost of Ownership: Good on fuel.

well its actually a gt4 but there wasnt that option. 0-60 in 5.1 155mph 2.0l turbo 4wd awesome machine!!! this car is absolutely amazing. the grip levels when you go round a fast bend are so high, you feel like you on rails. the acceleration is "rip your face off" quick an it keeps going untill about 130mph an the it slows down a bit but still keeps goin if you have a road long enough.Jun 15, 2010

0-60mph in 4.9 seconds with a good launch. Is able to
brake late and it handles like a beast with it's 4WD system.
Build quality is pretty good, the only things that have
broke is the original radio (but they all do.. 14 yo car..)
and the aerial, which won't retract.
At certain rpm's the centre console rattles as we had to
take it off to install the aftermarket radio. Easily fixed
though.
Interior is lovely, comfortable seats, nice dash. Looks like a
total beast on the exterior.
Depending on how you drive it you can get upto 30mpg or
so. Not much maintenance needed if you take care of it.
We had to replace the turbo, exhaust, brake pads and
suspension, but it's brilliant now.
Fantastically fun, it truly roars. Can do quite good 4WD
drifts if you push it hard enough.

What is there to say about my Blue Bombshell? Well, I will begin with firest impressions. The Celica has always been one of the best looking J Coupes, in 94 it became truely beautiful. The first time I saw BB, she was sat on her sellers driveway, looking stunning in Azure Blue, the tickle of sunlight, giving her an almost purple sheen. For £750, I wasn't gonna find anything else quite so pretty.
Driving my BB is a fun, but worrying experience. Being a heavy FWD makes her understeer into almost every corner. Couple this with on-power understeer on exit, accompanied by torque steer from the LSD and I think you get the picture that BB wasn't built for the back lanes! However, on a motorway she comes into her own. With smooth power delivery and a healthy amount of torque, BB is the perfect mile muncher. There is a down side however. Fuel. BB will pass anything but a fuel station, making trips to the beach, or a cruise over the moors a rare treet.
In conclusion though, if you're willing to spend the cash on petrol, then a Celica GT is the car for you. That is, until a GT4 drives past!Jul 15, 2009

Great gas millage, super fun, everything I want and need in a car right now. I like that it's small and I love the sunroof. Super reliable, which is perfect for me as a student. Still kind of sporty looking and slightly sporty feeling so I don't feel like I'm driving a super boring car. Pretty good sound system too. This car was so much fun to own, and I still miss it! I had a manual tranny, and it had a lot of power. It had leather seats and a two toned interior, which was nice, although the seat supports were broken down by about 80k. I also had a moonroof and replaced the specialty factory radio because it started skipping my cds. Visibility was good and it got really good mileage! My car had been in an accident before I bought it (Carfax lied on the report) and it had some odd driveability issues, which hampered the performance. I had problems with the struts by 80k and they weren't the cheapest to replace. But in the 5 years I owned it, I spent around $1000 in repairs, including front struts, brakes, tuneups, etc. I owned a red one, and unfortunately it was the target of lunatic drivers who backed into it parked a few times and a host of other abuses. Otherwise, this car looked like a million dollars all freshly detailed and I always got compliments on it. I'll have to buy another one someday!Dec 01, 2008

Performance - 130HP 145FT/LBS. Fantastic acceleration especially when you live on a road that is 55 mph. Passing on a highway, no need for down shifting. I have not felt any body flex from my convertible.
Build Quality - Repairs? What are those, other than the frequent oil changes I do myself, because I put 5000 miles on in a month. Brakes/Tires go out over time, because I drive it so much. I've only had to replace the starter and I'm at 219,000 miles.
Appearance - Curvy, circle lights, and the SL2 paint choice make it outstanding in looking good. I loath leather seats, working on getting factory cloth. 6 inches of head room and I'm 6ft.
Cost of Ownership - $150 roughly for the starter. $25 for oil and oil filter. And well gas, but I get 25mpg, unless I keep it in 3rd or 4th.
Fun Factor - Oh it's fun. In snow, rain, even when it is dry. Way more fun than other cars I've had.Nov 28, 2008

I absolutely love this car! I wish it was here! I miss her! Shes kept me safe! Great handling!!! Super fun to drive! Fast enough! That cat went and i thought she was dead! Underpowered, but great handeling. Great gas mialage. Love the look. Great fit and finish. I would recomend to any of my friends. I upgraded the exhaust, the intake and the suspension. I put Tein lowering springs with new shocks and struts. I put in bigger diameter sway bars front and rear. While I was performing my last tune up on the car the number one plug did not want to come out. When It did it took all the threads with it because the bottom two threads on the spark plug welded togther. So it is the perfect reason to swap out the motor for a turbo motor from the Mr-2. For such an old as crap car, I can still flog it like a go-cart and make it home. Still getting 27 mpg. I have driven this car since I could drive and it has served me very well. Wish I could have another but student loans don't have car allotments. She'll do until she falls apart.

Good car, everything is nicely set up inside. Seats are a little lower than other mid-size cars so it kind of gives you the sports car feeling, which is not. I put a new clutch in it, and it would still slip a lot when I'd try to take off fast (maybe just a problem for being a relatively old car). Feb 15, 2008

I love my Toyota! I have had miner problems with the car but nothing big. But the Celica needs a little more horsepower, so I was thinking I would do an engine swap. But overall the car is really nice, I love the interior and the body is really nice. It is easy to drive and its fun. I bought it with 101k for $5000 (I had a friend at a dealership). I had it all 4 years I was at college and could not have asked for a better vehicle. Besides normal wear and tear items like tires, breaks, oil changes etc, I did not invest any money into my Celica.....nothing needed fixed. I easily drove approx 20,000 miles per year and never had a doubt that something would break or malfunction....Maybe I was lucky, but I had 110% faith in this car.
The body held up extremely well, as did the paint. I kept it waxed, and it kept looking shiny and new.

1995 Celica won't start some times, other times it starts just fine
The car will start fine 9 times out of 10. Then, stop at a store, go out the next day, and it won't start. Usually, if you wait a couple minutes, then try again, it starts right up. I was told it was the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump, car started right up. I put the back seat back together, went to start it up to move the car to my garage, wouldn't start. Came out an hour later, it started up first try. Any ideas?
