Lots of horse power when running right. To much maintenance to keep it going sometimes but its well worth it most of the time. The only thing is that you will find youself working on this car every month until the car is completely restored. Project car for sure but its one that runs and drives everyday.Mar 14, 2011

BEST CAR EVER! It handles like a dream even though its older than me. It runs like frikkin Usain Bolt. It has required a bit of maintenance, but not much over 22 years. And it has a turbo...it is the only car that I have driven and subsequently been thrown into the back of my seat.Sep 14, 2009

It's ugly yes, I'll give you that. Being that I spent $275.00 on the car and have about 1200 into it and I can play with 2000 S281's and '03 Mach one's all day, I have no complaints. I drive this car hard and it takes it. I have another 3k in parts to go on. They should wake this little screamer up alot! many plans for the car ! keep an eye or two out. you may just see an XR running down the street. I'll touch on a few bullets. * performance- Old school tech with a hairdryer = bad to the bone. This engine came with 175hp ish and the stock block can take 300-350 hp all day long. Add go fast goods and your set. just make sure the tune and everything is on par :) * Build Quality- It rattles and squeaks but hey it's older than my girlfriend..... alomost * Appearance- It is an ugly car to most. I dig the lines and look. It is a confusing car, a cross between Mustang and Escort. To say the least it does it's job. * Cost of Ownership- If you play, you pay!!!! * Fun Factor- This car is one of the most fun to drive. It has better feel than my '98 Cobra to the road. It will out handle most cars. It's RWD (rear wheel drive) which makes it a hell of alot more fun than fighting FWD torque steer. engine parts are the same as Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Don't buy a new car and think your gonna stomp this old Ford product. It will suprise all!!!! I would recomend this car to anyone able to do most auto tasks. such as engine swaps, cam swap, trans swap, clutch etc you get the point. Once they are dialed they are rad. so RAD my girl wants an XR. Aug 27, 2008
