loved the truck at first for the simple fact it was my first truck but it started having engine problems from the time i got it and only had it for 3 months till i brought my mercury mountaineer suvDec 27, 2014

My first car and got it for only $1,000. It has a lot of new parts but everything that didn't get replaced by the previous owner is shot,(streeing gear box, rear shocks, rear bushings)and some odder things like the fuel pump cut off switch and gas gauges not working. Lots of torque though, sounds like it has a cam in it but I think it's just no cats, headers, and the magnaflows.Jun 28, 2011

Performance- Acceleration sucks, braking was ok, and it handled like a truck. It
would pull like crazy, but it wouldn't do it fast.
Build Quality- it ran and drove well, the only things I had to put in it was a new
u joint, valve cover gasket, and vacuum pump
Appearance- It looks tough, it puts hair on your chest just by looking at it. I
turned the pump up so it could roll coal which made it even better.\
Cost of ownership- I remember the day I checked the mileage and seen 13
mpg...... it made me want to stand up and cheer.

loved the truck, got the motor all tuned up pretty much started great in the cold, fox body 5.0 motor swap converted to carb, hard cold starts till i got through with it, 4 speed 4x4, almost impossible to get stuck when in 4 low and granny gear, would pull the world if i asked it toApr 30, 2010

It's a little over 24 years old and still running stronger than a mule, 351 Cleavland has enough power to pull the world, cheapest car I've owned so far :), Nothing stands in this trucks way, especially small economy cars and children in streets :)May 12, 2009

1985 Ford F250 ignition problems
Hello together, I have the problem that my truck wont start. I put the key in and turn it in the "ignition on" position. Usually if you would turn further you would get into this spring loaded part where it activates the starter but I just turn against a hard stop. I already replaced the Ignition switch but does not solve the issue. Does anybody know what it could be? Relais? best regards Felix

Starting issue 1985 Ford F-250
So my truck wouldn't start and I had narrowed it down to being between the starter firewall relay solonoid and the key. Dropped steering column and adjusted the ignition switch. Started up once then nothing so I replaced the switch. Started right up 5 times in a row so I bolted everything back together. Now it doesn't start. So I drop steering column again and try to start it. With a few wiggles it starts but then starter stays engaged grindin away with keys out of ignition. Pulled battery cable to get it to stop. So then my battery won't show any voltage with a multimeter. Randomly it shows voltage again and I get this far in my diagnostics. Pulled small red/blue wire from side of relay and put a test light on it. With steering column dropped it lights up only in start position. With steering column held up in position it lights up with key in start position but stays lit (dimly) with key out of ignition. Multimeter shows its still drawing 0.32 volts. Could this be a main grounding issue or do I have a faulty wire causing a short circuit between the ignition wire and another? And if so how can I narrow it down to which wire. Obviously the steering column changing position is causing something to happen.
