My 72 f100 acts like it runs out of gas, particularly on an uphill street. After a few moments it will start up and run fine until the next time. Doesn't seem to matter if the tank is full or not.
I believe the problem is that there is something floating around in the tank that sucks on to the fuel outlet with the added draw of a grade. None of the mechanics I've spoken with want to deal with the tank and insist it must be some under the hood thing. I little wary of the gas tank, removing it or trying to root around in it with a coathanger like one suggested. Got any suggestions on the best way to proceed? Thanks.
