It’s a great electric car for both saving gas and for saving the environment and also affordable

The car had straightforward, easy to use controls, and it had a smooth, solid ride. We would have bought it, but it was missing a charging cable.

I immediately fell in love with this car. Coming from a 2005 Prius, Im impressed with little things users of new cars may not see as big deals, like CarPlay and Qi charger built in, but the details like the seat pulling back when you shut the car off to make getting in and out easier, folding in the mirrors when you lock the car, lane alerts, blind-spot alert, and best of all, the paddle shifters: 3 levels of re-gen for coasting, coming to a stop, generating while slowing down a hill, etc. This is a new way of driving and I love it. Its very natural. I like the Hyundais 3 driving modes: eco, normal and sport. In sport, it really takes off, but theres a cost to your range. My only complaint is the total range on a good day is 120mi. Here in the Vermont winter a full charge is about 100mi. Heated seats, though! :-) Driving on a highway and having to stop every two hours to charge will make for longer trips, for sure. But as a commuter? This is practically free to drive, and a HUGE step up from gas. No emissions! No smell! No oil changes! Silence! Start the car from inside the house!

Shopping for electric I see three distinct categories: if you can afford it, Tesla wins , hands-down. If you want to keep it as cheap as possible, Nissan Leaf has been in it longest and holds the bottom. In the middle, Hyundai has sufficient experience building electric, and a pleasurable driving experience. I like the steering wheel paddles for how hard to pull electricity back from momentum to batteries. I like the side video when changing lanes to check blind spots.
