I have a 1983 Z28 Stage Three Camaro. It is an amazing car. Fiberglass hood and trim, posi rear end, stage three hi po suspension, T Tops, functional air intake, aluminum wheels, power window, lock and lift gate. I replaced the stock Cross Fire 305 with a hi po 355 that I built myself.

Stylish in the 80s, but it does not have a classic look that would grab attention today. The unique attribute of the early 80s was the T-tops. Removing the glass panels was quick, but they took up the entire storage area which was very inconvenient. The 305 small block V8 only made 150hp, but performance was good for the time. Exhaust was well tuned and produced nice low rumble. The 4-speed automatic transmission was weak link as it began to slip after only 3 years and soon had to be rebuilt, of course after the warranty expired. Overall it was a fun car and held its value through the 80s but fuel economy was very poor, averaging around 12 – 13 mpg around town.
