CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Nissan Murano

Summary
With 41 currently listed for sale near Portland, OR and an average price of $32,866.00, 126.8% of 2025 Nissan Murano models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Nissan Murano 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2025 Nissan Murano is notable because it marks a long-awaited makeover for the model, which was the Japanese automaker’s first-ever crossover. For 2025, it arrives as the fourth generation with a new powertrain and a wide range of new features, including tech and comfort options appearing in this lineup for the first time. That combination gives the Murano a fresh identity while keeping its appeal centered on style and comfort.
What stands out most is how well the 2025 Murano balances premium feel with everyday usability. The test-drive notes call out its stylish design, a very affordable premium for all-wheel drive, and an extremely comfortable front row. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks: some desirable features were removed from the middle trim for 2025, the backseat legroom is poor, and true hands-free driving is not available. Those tradeoffs keep it from feeling fully complete, but they also help define where this Murano fits for buyers who value comfort and a more upscale presentation.

The Murano has plenty of amenities and comfort. I have owned Bentleys, Mercedes, and Range Rovers and I find this to be just as if not more comfortable than those models. The Murano rides exceptionally well and I can’t find anything negative to say about it!! I love it!

Is the 2025 Nissan Murano reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Murano’s new powertrain and updated automatic transmission should help it feel more modern and less compromised than the outgoing setup, and the expert notes describe the redesign as generally positive overall. The model also benefits from a more advanced safety and driver-assistance package than before, which can support confidence in day-to-day use.
The performance notes point to a torquier turbocharged engine and a nine-speed automatic, both of which should be easier to live with than the old CVT-based setup. If you want a used SUV that feels current and well sorted, this one has a good foundation, though long-term ownership risk still depends on how well the previous owner maintained it.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Murano?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one priced near the top of the range. Focus on cabin condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle has the equipment you want, since some desirable items moved up the trim ladder for 2025.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base model gives you standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and the core safety suite, while the SL adds Google Built-In, a Bose audio system, ambient lighting, and more advanced camera and visibility tech. The middle trim also lost some desirable equipment for 2025, so you should compare feature content carefully before assuming the lower-priced version is the best value.
- Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, rated at 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. AWD is available at the base level, while SL and Platinum come with AWD by default.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, with lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. ProPILOT Assist is also included, and SL and Platinum upgrade to ProPILOT Assist 1.1 with navigation-based speed adjustment; higher trims also add Invisible Hood View and a more advanced around-view monitor.
- Infotainment: Every Murano gets a pair of 12.3-inch screens in a single housing, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and four USB-C ports. SL adds Google Built-In and a 10-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system, while Platinum adds a head-up display.
- Fuel efficiency: The Murano is rated at 21 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined.
Which 2025 Nissan Murano trim should I buy?
The 2025 Nissan Murano is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, SL, Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- SV: This is the value play if you want the new Murano’s core redesign, standard wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, and the full base safety suite without stretching your budget. It also gives you the lowest entry price and the option of AWD for a relatively small premium.
- SL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds Google Built-In, the Bose premium audio system, ambient lighting, and more advanced driver-assistance and visibility tech. It also gets AWD by default, so it feels like the most complete version without jumping all the way to the top trim.
- Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Murano experience, including the head-up display and the most advanced convenience and visibility features. It is the right pick if you care most about a near-luxury presentation and are willing to pay for it.
The safety package starts with Nissan Safety Shield 360 on every trim, while SL and Platinum add the more advanced ProPILOT Assist 1.1 and extra visibility tech.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Murano?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,858 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.81% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $34,434.32, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Nissan Murano's resale value?
The current average of $34,426 sits slightly below last year's $40,893.
That price movement suggests the Murano has become more attractive to used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. If you buy at the right price now, you may be starting from a more favorable cost basis than shoppers who paid closer to last year’s average.
For future resale, the key question is whether the redesign’s added appeal outweighs the model’s practical compromises. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Nissan Murano safe?
The 2025 Nissan Murano earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS on the previous generation, and this redesign adds a passenger’s side airbag, reinforced seating, and more advanced camera-based visibility tech.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, with lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. The Murano also adds ProPILOT Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and steering assist, while SL and Platinum get ProPILOT Assist 1.1 with navigation-based speed adjustment. Higher trims also add Invisible Hood View and a more advanced 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor with moving-object detection.
A true hands-free driving system is not available, even on the top trim, so if that feature matters to you, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.81% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2025 model brings a new powertrain, a redesigned cabin, and more advanced tech and safety features than the outgoing generation.
The bottom line: If you want the newest Murano design, the updated powertrain, and the most modern feature set, the 2025 is the better path. If your priority is spending less, a nearby older model year may still appeal, but you’ll be giving up the redesign and some of the newer tech and safety upgrades that define this version.
