CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Genesis G80
overall

Summary
With 265 currently listed for sale and an average price of $54,293.00, 34.3% of 2025 Genesis G80s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Genesis G80 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.17 / 10.
95.8% of 2025 Genesis G80 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Genesis G80 stands out as a good-looking, feature-rich, well-priced option in the mid-size luxury sedan class. It is described as a high-end, high-tech sedan that puts its established rivals on watch, and its appeal is rooted in design, technology, and features. That combination gives it a sophisticated presence and strong curb appeal, while also making it feel like a compelling value in a segment where prices can climb quickly.
It also brings several everyday strengths that matter to luxury buyers. The ride quality is excellent, and the interior materials are premium, which supports the G80’s upscale character. At the same time, the car’s tradeoff is clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and fuel economy is poor. For shoppers who care more about comfort, refinement, and value than outright speed, the 2025 Genesis G80 makes a persuasive case.

Love this car I’m actually considered buying another one. I love all the features. I think the only thing I could probably use is Wif a hotspot Wi-Fi connected to your Genesis yearly subscription rather than have to go to another place like Verizon to keep it open.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and fuel economy is poor. That makes it a better fit if you value comfort, refinement, and value more than outright speed.
With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2025 Genesis G80 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The G80 is backed by a strong warranty package, including a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty, and three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance. That support helps reduce early ownership stress and adds confidence if you plan to keep the car for a while.
Its comfort-focused character also supports reliability-minded ownership, since the car is tuned more for smooth commuting and long road trips than for hard driving. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium sedan with modest efficiency can cost more to live with if you rack up miles quickly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis G80?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a car with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, because luxury features and interior wear can matter as much as mechanical health in a sedan like this.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base models wear standard 18-inch wheels and use leatherette seating surfaces, while the Advanced trim adds wood trim. Higher trims bring more upscale touches, including carbon fiber trim, alloy pedals, Nappa leather seats, and a micro-suede headliner.
- Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, or a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The car is quick enough for daily use, but it is not tuned for especially spirited acceleration.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, speed limit assist, forward and rear park-distance warning, blind-spot avoidance tech, and Highway Drive Assist. Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.
- Infotainment: The cabin centers on a 27-inch OLED display touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also includes fingerprint authentication, a digital key, and available Smart Park.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the G80 a combined fuel rating of 24 miles per gallon for the smaller engine, dropping to 19 mpg combined in the twin-turbo V6.
Which 2025 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?
The 2025 Genesis G80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Advanced, Sport Advanced and Sport Prestige.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the G80’s core luxury appeal, including the refreshed styling, the 27-inch OLED display, and the standard safety and tech foundation. It makes sense if you want the cleanest path into the model’s value story.
- Advanced: This is the best-value trim because it adds wood trim and moves the cabin closer to the upscale feel you expect in a luxury sedan. If you want the strongest balance of price and polish, this is the one to target.
- Sport Advanced: This trim is for you if you want a more premium-feeling setup with the stronger 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 and additional upscale equipment. It suits buyers who want more power without going all the way to the top trim.
- Sport Prestige: This is the most lavish version, adding carbon fiber trim, alloy pedals, Nappa leather seats, and a micro-suede headliner. Choose it if you want the richest interior presentation and do not mind paying for it.
Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis G80?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 282 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.11% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 96.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $53,092.53, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Genesis G80's resale value?
The current average of $54,542 sits slightly below last year's $57,476.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.
The G80’s strong value proposition and premium positioning should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want luxury without the highest badge premium. A well-kept example with desirable equipment is likely to draw more attention than a neglected one.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Genesis G80 safe?
The 2025 Genesis G80 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. It also scored Good in small front and side crashes as well as front pedestrian avoidance from IIHS, while earning Acceptable for headlights, forward collision avoidance and LATCH ease of use, and Marginal in moderate front crashes and seat belt reminders.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Genesis equips most driver-assistance aids as standard, including forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, speed limit assist, forward and rear park-distance warning, blind-spot avoidance tech, and Highway Drive Assist. Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.
The main caveat is the mixed IIHS performance, especially the Marginal results in moderate front crashes and seat belt reminders. That means you should pay close attention to the car’s equipment level and condition, even though the standard safety suite is broad.
Should I buy a 2025 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.11% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Fresh styling and the new 27-inch OLED display make this year feel especially modern.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It leans into old-school elegance with a more distinctly luxury-first personality.
The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of value, fresh tech, and broad inventory while the market is still softening. If you are more focused on the newest expression of the G80’s luxury character and can stretch for a newer model, the 2026 is worth a look; otherwise, the 2025 gives you the smarter buy for most shoppers.
