What’s New for the 2024 Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The impressive Rolls-Royce Cullinan enters 2024 with a new Blue Shadow Private Collection variant that the automaker said is inspired by the edge of space. It will be limited to 62 units and will come with the automaker’s starlight headliner, custom luggage, a 1:8 scale model, and more.

Design

Rolls-Royce modeled the Cullinan after its other vehicles, which means a long hood and stately front-end design with a large, upright grille. It’s not a particularly beautiful look, but buyers have nearly endless customization options, including bespoke colors, unique wheel designs, and unique materials for the SUV’s exterior trim pieces. The Black Badge Blue Shadow model also gets an exclusive, color-matched car cover.

Powertrain

Though it’s going electric, Rolls-Royce left the Cullinan’s V12 alone. It’s a 6.75-liter unit making up to 592 horsepower in the Black Badge model. Though that’s a strong number, the Cullinan’s powertrain is most adept at propelling the SUV in absolute silence. There’s little indication of a massive V12 pumping away under the hood, though the Cullinan is impressively quick, with a zero-60-mph time in the sub-five-second range. Air suspension is standard; it relies on a camera system to detect road imperfections and adjust damping accordingly. The setup gives the Rolls a ride quality unmatched by other ultra-luxury vehicles.

Interior

Almost every Rolls-Royce buyer customizes their purchase with unique interior materials and color schemes, and the Cullinan is no exception. While world-class leather and materials like lambswool are common, buyers can choose almost anything, and the designers will make it work. Interior panels and materials can be customized to the buyer’s heart’s content, and the SUV offers acres of space in both rows.

Technology

Rolls-Royce equips a substantial touchscreen with Apple CarPlay as standard. A rear-seat entertainment package is available, and the SUV’s sound system includes 18 speakers by default. Though it’s owned by BMW, Rolls-Royce supplies infotainment software which feels like its own animal, offering a unique but mostly intuitive avenue to interact with the Cullinan.

Safety

The Cullinan’s (and all Rolls-Royce models’) deep six-figure price tag means it’s too expensive to crash test. Even so, it comes with a load of advanced driver aids, including automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alerts, lane-keep assist, and more.

Pricing

The 2024 Rolls-Royce Cullinan starts in the mid-$300,000 range. Company representatives state that the vast majority of buyers customize their SUVs to a high degree, so most will sell for a considerably higher number. Buyers can choose from custom paints, unique interior finishes, bespoke stitching and design work, upgraded wheels, and custom stereo options.
