Kia equips the 2024 Sportage hybrid with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and one electric motor, for a combined output of 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The SUV is front-wheel-drive (FWD) by default, but it’s available with all-wheel drive (AWD). A six-speed automatic transmission is standard instead of the continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) many automakers opt for. That gives the Sportage Hybrid a more engaging driving feel and more responsive acceleration.

The base display brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, and more. The upgraded tech system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. While the extra screen real estate is nice, it comes at the expense of wireless smartphone mirroring.

The Sportage Hybrid is nicely equipped with safety gear, including parking sensors, automatic high beams, forward collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, driver-attention monitoring, and lane-departure warning. The SUV drives well, but the EX trim we bought lacked somethings that we thought it should have had like the following: 1) One push drivers side door unlock, Two push all doors unlock 2) Chair and mirror memory for 2 different drivers 3) Automatic side folding mirrors I was surprised to see this car had heated side mirrors, heated seats and front collision warning, and tinted windows.
