What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X1?

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific car has a clean title and consistent service records. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, prior repairs, and any issues that may not show up in photos. Focus on overall condition, since even a strong inventory mix can hide differences in maintenance and cosmetic care from one listing to the next.

The current average of $34,494 sits slightly below last year's $36,715.

That softer pricing can help you buy with less risk of overpaying today, but it also means future resale value may depend more heavily on condition and mileage. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell. For a future seller, the current market suggests that clean, well-kept examples will likely hold up better than average ones.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.05% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,576, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,494 average.
• The 2023 offers zippy driving and useful cargo space.

The 2024 is the better fit if you want the newer-year market with strong clean inventory and decent deal availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still brings the core strengths many shoppers want.
