About 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage
The 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage is one of the most affordable new cars on the market today. While you don’t get much for that price, it is a functional and frugal subcompact. The Mirage is also offered as a subcompact sedan, called the G4, which is covered [__as a separate model__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2023-Mitsubishi-Mirage-G4-c32661). ## What’s New for the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage For 2023, the only change to the Mirage is that the five-speed manual transmission has been dropped from the lineup. ## Design The Mirage is undoubtedly a dated design, as much as Mitsubishi attempts to chase relevancy with the bold chrome accents in the grille and front bumper. Trims for the Mirage are ES, LE, BE, and SE. The ES comes with 14-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. The LE trim adds 14-inch alloy wheels and fog lights. The BE (Black Edition) features black 15-inch alloy wheels, black side mirrors, and a black roof spoiler. ## Powertrain There’s only one engine offered in the 2023 Mirage, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder. It makes a whopping 78 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While lacking in power, it delivers terrific fuel economy. EPA estimates for the Mirage are 36 mpg city, 43 highway, 39 and combined. ## Interior The Mirage provides 47 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in the upright position, it offers 17.1 cubic feet of cargo space. The Mirage has a manual liftgate. The ES comes with cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, and automatic climate control. The LE makes some additional packages available. The BE includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The SE adds a driver’s-seat armrest, partial synthetic leather upholstery, push-button start, remote keyless entry, and heated front seats. ## Technology All trims of the 2023 Mirage come equipped with an easy-to-use 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Mirage also comes with a USB port, voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, and a four-speaker stereo. ## Safety The list of driver-assistance features isn’t very long, but covers the essentials, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and pedestrian detection. The BE trim adds rain-sensing windshield wipers and automatic headlights. The SE trim adds lane-departure warning and automatic high beams. Front and rear parking sensors are a standalone option for $635. The Mirage earns four out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These ratings are for the 2022 model, which carries over unchanged. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, base MSRP for the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage is $16,245 for the ES trim. The LE starts at $16,845 and the BE starts at $17,445. The range-topping SE starts at $18,145. The Mitsubishi Mirage is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
