Why it stands out
The 2023 Mazda CX-5 continues to be a standout choice in the compact SUV segment thanks to its distinctive blend of style, performance, and premium-quality materials. Despite being on the market since 2017, it still presents a fresh appearance, particularly with the introduction of a new Rhodium White paint option. The high-quality interior is often compared to those found in luxury vehicles, contributing to a feeling of refinement and sophistication on the road. The driving dynamics are another highlight; the CX-5 is known for its sporty handling and responsiveness, making everyday commutes enjoyable. However, it's essential to consider some limitations, such as its small back seat and cargo space, which might be a drawback for families. Moreover, the infotainment system has faced criticism for its lack of user-friendliness, indicating that while the CX-5 excels in many areas, it still has room for improvement.

I had been told to stick to Honda or Toyota for a practical car but I was frustrated having to go higher trims to get my dealbreakers like keyless entry or power seats. I also hadn’t been a fan of SUVs but wanted more cargo space, so I was looking for hatchbacks, but they are so hard to find. Thankfully a friend with this car suggested I try it- I was floored to see how many reasonably priced barely used options I had! And more importantly, the BASE model has everything I could want- keyless entry, power seats, heated seats, a great screen, and so much cargo space. I was comfortable driving this IMMEDIATELY despite never having an SUV. The seats being leather trim with suede centers are truly the best of both worlds. And I could care less than it doesn’t have a touch screen, because the control knob is amazing. I love that the base model has all these perks without a moonroof, which I truly did not want. The only downside I can think of is a less than stellar fuel economy, but I just don’t drive long enough distances for that to be much of a concern for me personally..

Love all the features of the CX-5, especially the heads up display. I thought it was going to be annoying, but its certainly useful. The fact that cars in your blind spot show up on the display is great. I notice that vefore the indicators on the side view mirrors. It has a smooth and comfortable ride.
