CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Honda Accord
overall

Summary
With 4,209 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,332.00, 31.3% of 2023 Honda Accords for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Honda Accord 3.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
82.3% of 2023 Accord models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The redesigned 2023 Honda Accord builds on a formula that already worked well, and Honda’s changes make it feel like an even stronger version of a traditional four-door family car. It stands out for being fun to drive, while also offering a spacious interior and great safety ratings. For buyers who want a sedan that balances everyday usefulness with a more engaging driving experience, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
At the same time, the 2023 Accord is not trying to be everything to everyone. All-wheel drive is not available, and it does not offer a third-row seat or a big cargo area you can pack to the roof. The car also has several minor comfort issues, and its value for the money is questionable. Even so, for shoppers who do not need those extra capabilities, the 2023 Honda Accord remains an excellent example of the family sedan.

How much does the 2023 Honda Accord cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $24,416 |
| Year-Round Low | $23,577.24 |
| Year-Round High | $25,063.57 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $25,051 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.54% |
Prices have softened 2.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,330 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you commit.
If you find a listing below $23,577.24, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord a good car?
The 2023 Honda Accord is a strong fit if you want a traditional family sedan that still feels engaging, with a 3.5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.
It backs that up with a spacious interior and a driving character that’s more fun than most sedans in this class. At the same time, you give up all-wheel drive, a third-row seat, and a big cargo area you can pack to the roof, so it works best if your priorities stay centered on everyday usefulness rather than maximum versatility.
The trade-offs are real: the car has several minor comfort issues and its value for the money is questionable.
With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord reliable?
The 2023 Accord is presented as a robust, well-sorted sedan that feels solid on the road and easy to live with.
Honda’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is described as refined, and the suspension does a good job filtering shimmy, shudder, and harshness from the cabin. The car also feels capable and enjoyable on winding roads, which suggests a chassis and powertrain that are built to handle regular use without feeling strained.
Honda also includes two years or 24,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance on new models, which is a useful ownership perk if you’re buying used and comparing total running costs.
For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that the Accord’s higher asking price can make any repair or depreciation hit feel more expensive than it would in a cheaper rival.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda Accord?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or a car with visible wear. Focus on interior condition, tire condition, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re considering, since the Accord’s feature set changes meaningfully by version.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX and step-up EX are the gas-only versions, while the Accord Sport and higher trims move to hybrid power. The EX adds a more appealing interior presentation than the LX, but the base trim still leaves you with a fairly basic setup.
- Powertrain: The gas models use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 192 horsepower and a CVT. It’s adequate rather than quick, and the car is front-wheel drive only.
- Safety package: Every 2023 Accord has Honda Sensing, including adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a reversing camera with three views, automatic high-beam headlights, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on EX through an option package.
- Infotainment: You get a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen, plus Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, text-messaging support, HondaLink connected services, Wi-Fi access, and an SOS emergency call button.
- Fuel efficiency: The gas LX and EX are rated at 32 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2023 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2023 Honda Accord is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Accord experience with the standard turbocharged engine, Honda Sensing, and the basic tech setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it’s the least appealing choice if you care about cabin polish or extra convenience features.
- EX: This is the better-value pick because it adds a more upscale cabin feel, an eight-speaker audio system, and the option to add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the most balanced gas-only Accord, this is the one to target.
Every 2023 Accord comes standard with Honda Sensing, and the EX can be optioned with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Accord?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,330 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 82.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,577.24, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $24,416 sits slightly below last year's $25,051.
That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a future resale check is softer than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, the Accord still has broad appeal thanks to its safety reputation and family-sedan practicality, but you should not expect a rising-price environment to do the work for you.
For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition. A clean history, good maintenance records, and a desirable trim will matter more when the market is drifting down than when prices are climbing.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord safe?
It earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every 2023 Accord has Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a reversing camera with three views, automatic high-beam headlights, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system.
If you want the extra blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert features, you need the EX trim’s available option package.
Should I buy a 2023 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.
- It’s the redesigned 11th-generation Accord, with a stronger focus on safety, a more modern cabin, and a more engaging driving feel.
The bottom line: If you want the newest Accord shape and a well-rounded sedan with strong safety content, the 2023 is the right place to start. If you’re mainly chasing lower purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 still gives you a compelling mix of freshness, safety, and everyday usability.
