Overview

The 2023 Audi SQ5 combines agile, athletic driving dynamics with a versatile compact luxury SUV platform. The result is a lively daily driver that can carry what you need and does it in a hurry. The SQ5 provides a helpful 54 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, the SQ5 provides 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space. For 2023, there are some minor additions and changes in features. If color selection is your thing, Chronos Gray replaces Quantum Gray.
Trims for the SQ5 are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Standard features on the Premium include 20-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, two USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charging, and a power liftgate. The SQ5 also comes standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
The Premium trim is available with a Convenience Package that adds a number of features, including driver’s seat memory, power folding side mirrors, and a heated steering wheel.
Moving up to the Premium Plus adds the content of the Convenience Package, as well as a panoramic sunroof and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, which is their name for a fully digital instrument panel. For 2023, a Bang and Olufsen premium sound system now comes on the Premium Plus.
The top-tier trim is the Prestige. It adds Matrix-design LED headlights, navigation, and ventilated front seats.
The Audi SQ5 is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine which makes 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive. This setup is good for a zero-to-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 155 mph—on summer tires. (Switching to winter tires reduces the top speed to 130 mph.) EPA estimates for fuel economy are 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined. The SQ5 requires premium fuel, and it comes equipped with a multi-link suspension setup with active damping. It also features four-wheel disc brakes with six-piston front calipers.
Standard driver-assistance features in the Audi SQ5 include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, and front and rear parking sensors. For 2023, adaptive cruise control is now standard equipment as well. Optional safety tech includes a surround-view parking camera system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Audi SQ5 is $55,800 for the Premium trim. The Premium Plus starts at $60,500, and the range-topping Prestige is $65,700. The SQ5 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
