Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Nissan Titan 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.33 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Nissan Titan may not be the best-selling full-size pickup truck, but it deserves more attention. It stands out with a stylish design and a quiet cabin, giving it a more polished feel than its overlooked reputation might suggest. For buyers shopping the full-size pickup segment, that combination of presence and refinement is part of its appeal.
The 2022 Nissan Titan is available in King Cab and Crew Cab configurations, and it comes with a standard 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both offered, and the truck starts at $38,810. It also earns points for excellent value for money, though its poor fuel economy is a drawback, and a manual transmission is not available.

Great truck. I love its look and all the features it came with. I have a 2005 Titan and am sold on the brand. That was the main motivation for buying a new one. This was a no-brainer for me. Great towing capacity, impressive ground clearance, luxurious spacious comfortable interior, and great power with its 400hp 5.7 liter engine. I highly recommend anyone looking for a truck to check out the Titan.

How much does the 2022 Nissan Titan cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $29,595 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,751.36 |
| Year-Round High | $31,530.84 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,539 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.16% |
Prices have softened 6.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
With 863 listings available, you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare across trims and cab configurations.
If you find a listing below $28,751.36, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan a good car?
Yes — 4.5/5 from owners and 8.33/10 from experts. The Titan stands out as a full-size pickup that feels more polished than its overlooked reputation suggests, with a stylish design and a quiet cabin. It also brings a standard V8, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive availability, and a cabin that feels airy and well finished.
The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and no manual transmission. Even so, the truck’s strong value-for-money angle and everyday usability make it appealing if you want a full-size pickup that feels less utilitarian than many rivals.
31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Titan’s standard V8 and nine-speed automatic are described as a good match, and the truck’s straightforward hardware should make it easier for you to understand and live with over time. Its quiet cabin and solid build quality also support the sense that it’s designed to hold up as a daily driver.
The truck’s standard safety equipment and strong value proposition add to its durability story, especially if you plan to keep it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that fuel costs and maintenance exposure can add up if you rack up a lot of miles.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Titan?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on cabin condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping a higher-mileage example, pay extra attention to signs of hard towing or off-road use.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The cabin is clean and well finished, and higher trims add more comfort and convenience, but the base setup is simpler and leaves out some upscale touches.
- Powertrain: Every model uses a 5.6-liter gasoline V8 with a nine-speed automatic, and the truck is tuned for strong thrust rather than efficiency.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and rear automatic braking.
- Infotainment: An 8-inch center display is standard, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a 9-inch touchscreen is available on higher equipment.
- Fuel efficiency: RWD models are estimated at 16 mpg city/21 mpg highway/18 mpg combined, while 4WD models rate at 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.
Which 2022 Nissan Titan trim should I buy?
The 2022 Nissan Titan is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Pro-4X, Platinum Reserve, and Pro-4X.
Here's the short version:
- S: This is the entry point if you want the Titan’s core V8 power, standard safety tech, and the lowest starting price. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability and value than extra comfort features.
- SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience while staying below the higher-end trims. If you want a more balanced truck without jumping to luxury pricing, this is the one to focus on.
- Pro-4X: This is the off-road-oriented choice, with standard 4WD, an electronically locking rear differential, all-terrain tires, and Bilstein off-road shocks. It suits you best if you want the Titan’s most rugged setup.
- Platinum Reserve: This is the upscale pick, with the most premium equipment and the available upgraded audio and navigation features. Choose it if you want the most comfort and tech in the lineup.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across the Titan lineup, but the halogen reflector headlights on S and SV trims received a poor rating.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Titan?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 863 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 79.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,751.36, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $29,595 sits slightly below last year's $31,539.
That price movement suggests the Titan has already absorbed some near-term depreciation, which can help if you buy now and plan to sell later. A softer market today may also make it easier for you to find a well-equipped example at a more reasonable entry price. If demand stays steady, that can support a more predictable resale path than a truck that is still dropping quickly.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan safe?
The Titan received top “Good” ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in all but the “small overlap front: passenger-side” crash test, where it received an “Acceptable” rating. It also earned “Superior” ratings for front crash prevention tech, both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The truck also gets standard intelligent forward collision warning and eight airbags.
One caveat to keep in mind is the headlight result: the standard halogen reflector headlights on S and SV trims received a “Poor” rating. Pro 4X and Platinum Reserve models get full LED headlights, but those were not rated.
Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It combines a stylish design, a quiet cabin, and a standard V8 with available 4WD.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $30,599, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,595 average.
- It carries over the benefits of a significant refresh and offers a strong mix of standard power, technology, and safety.
The bottom line: If you want the better current-market value, the 2022 is the cleaner choice because prices are softer and inventory is still healthy. If you’re comparing closely priced examples, the 2021 only makes sense when you find a specific truck with the equipment and condition you want at a compelling price.
