About 2021 Ford F-450 Super Duty
Overview

Since the early 2000s, Ford has offered a 14,000-GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) version of the F-Series as the F-450, bridging the gap between its SuperDuty lineup and medium duty trucks like the F-650 and F-750.
For the 2021 model year, the F-450 has a handful of minor revisions. The manually folding, power-adjusting and heated mirrors are now part of the XL Power Equipment Group. 10-way power passenger seating is now eight-way. All-weather floor mats are optional on XLT and Lariat. Adaptive steering is optional on Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims and is standard on the Limited. All trims are available with an optional bed step, and for 2021, the Lariat Black Appearance Package replaces the Lariat Sport Appearance Package.
The F-450 is available in six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
No matter the trim level, each F-450 is powered by the same engine: the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel, with 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 RPM. All of the F-450 trims are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
All F-450 trims come with a baseline of safety equipment including AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, Belt Minders, driver and front passenger airbags with a Safety Canopy airbag system, a rear-view camera, and the SOS Post Crash Alert System. The XL trim includes Hill-Start Assist and a traction control system unique to dual-rear-wheel trucks.
XLT trim vehicles include the XL’s safety equipment, plus the Advance Security Pack, remote keyless Entry, automatic high beams, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert and trailer tow, and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning.
The Lariat builds on the XLT’s safety equipment with power-folding mirrors with Autofold, power telescoping, and LED security approach lamps with a utility lighting system. The rearview mirror is electrochromic and self-dimming. The Lariat also features auto-lock and auto-unlock, and a reverse sensing system.
The King Ranch trim adds Ford’s Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System when ordered with a Pro Trailer Backup Assist Package.
The Platinum trim adds Quad Beam LED Headlamps, plus Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support.
The Limited includes Adaptive Steering, Automatic High Beams, and Lane Keeping Alert.
On the entertainment front, the XL includes an AM/FM MP3 player with four speakers, plus FordPass Connect, which adds a 4G LTE hotspot for up to 10 devices and the ability to lock, unlock, and remote start the vehicle. Remote features are complimentary. WiFi requires a data plan.
The XLT features an AM/FM MP3 Player with five speakers and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, along with Sync 3, which includes enhanced voice recognition, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two Smart-Charging USB-C ports, and 911 Assist.
The Lariat adds a Premium AM/FM MP3 Player, plus a B&O Sound system by Bang & Olufsen with 10 speakers and a subwoofer.
The King Ranch and Premium include Remote Start via the key fob, a universal garage door opener, and voice activated Navigation with HD radio.
The Limited trim includes a wireless mobile device charging pad.
The 2021 Ford F-450 in the base XL trim starts at $53,675. XLT starts at $59,395, Lariat at $70,660, King Ranch at $82,335, and Platinum at $86,205, and the top-of-the-line F-450 Limited starts at $94,565.
