About 2020 BMW X1
Overview

BMW's smallest crossover, the X1, gets a major update for 2020. It competes against the Audi Q3, Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, and Volvo XC60.
BMW updated the X1’s face to match that of its larger X3, X5, and X7 siblings. It features an enlarged grille, daytime-running lights (DRL), and a new bumper. At the back, it sports a new pair of tinted taillights and wider tailpipes. Other niceties in BMW’s bag of tricks include a new two-tone “X1” welcome projection and contrast dashboard stitching. Finally, you can pick from three new paint colors: Storm Bay Metallic, Jucaro Beige, and Misano Blue Metallic.
The sole engine for the X1 is the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine that makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard sDrive28i package gets you front-wheel drive (FWD), while the xDrive28i package comes with all-wheel drive (AWD). The sDrive28i hits 60 mph in 6.6 seconds while the xDrive28i does it in 6.3 seconds. While there are no official fuel-economy figures yet for 2020, last year’s model maxed out at 22 mpg city, 32 highway, and 26 combined with premium fuel.
The 2020 X1 includes some new standard options, including a larger 8.8-inch infotainment system with navigation and Apple CarPlay. Other standard features include a power liftgate, a sport leather steering wheel, leatherette interior, and power front seats. Optional features include 19-inch wheels, keyless start, Dakota leather, LED headlights with cornering, a premium sound system, wireless-device charging, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a garage-door opener, power-folding mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.
Standard safety features include lane-departure warning, pedestrian warning with braking, frontal-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, in-car speed-limit information, a reversing camera, parking sensors, and automatic high beams. The only safety options are a parking assistant and adaptive cruise control.
The 2020 BMW X1 remains an attractive entry in the luxury subcompact crossover field.

Entry level BMW on a Mini Cooper Frame. Made with a lot of cheap plastic inside the engine bay, interior, and throughout the exterior. Doesnt ride smooth like a BMW should. Doesnt take bumps very well. It has plenty of power, but the ride is nothing like the X3, X5, and other higher end BMWS. But that is to be expected from their entry level vehicle. The seats are not very comfortable. The back seats are horrible and very short. They might suffice for a small child, but not an adult. The electronics are very outdated. older technology. Not to mention, it doesnt even offer Android Auto...cmon BMW, get with the times. All in all, the car has plenty of pep and is sort of sporty and not bad to drive. I also like the classic BMW look of the car, but the styling has not really kept up with more modern styles. At a less excessive price point I would feel much better about the value, but unfortunately, this car is way over-priced for what you get. There are many better options out there for the same money that will bring you a lot more bang for your buck!

I’m still learning how the car works. I went from a G37 Infiniti to the BMW X1 and I was concerned about the difference in power. No need to worry. The X1 has a turbo and plenty enough pick up and go. It’s a comfortable driving car, and plenty big enough to suit my needs.
