The Acura RLX, a full-size luxury sedan, first arrived in 2014 to replace the RL. It carries over for 2020.

Every RLX gets a 3.5-liter V6 capable of 310 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS), which lets each rear wheel adjust its angle independently in order to maintain maximum traction and maneuverability, comes standard. The RLX is rated for 20 mpg city, 23 highway, and 29 combined on premium fuel. An RLX Sport Hybrid is also available. That vehicle is covered in a separate preview.

Standard content for the RLX includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, 12-way power front seats, perforated leather, heated front seats, 3-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, satellite radio, a power moonroof, a 14-speaker audio system, navigation, keyless access, and keyless start.

On the safety front, the RLX comes standard with AcuraWatch, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a multi-angle reversing camera, rear cross-traffic detection, and road-departure mitigation. Thanks to all of its safety tech, the RLX scored a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the RLX a 5-star overall rating.
