About 2019 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid
Overview

Lincoln was first to market with a hybrid luxury sedan focused on fuel economy with its MKZ Hybrid. That model enters 2019 with seven years on its clock and no major changes.
Every MKZ Hybrid employs a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, electric motor, and continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT) for a combined 188 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque. Its fuel economy ratings--41 miles per gallon city, 38 highway, and 40 combined--will impress. Power goes exclusively to the front set of wheels. Unlike newer hybrids, the MKZ Hybrid has short-range all-electric mode, but there is an EcoSelect mode that trades some comfort and responsiveness for maximum fuel economy.
Lincoln treats the MKZ Hybrid like a trim level of the regular MKZ. It’s available in the same Base, Reserve, and Reserve II trims. The Base trim replaces last year’s Premier trim and include 18-inch alloy wheels, a tire mobility kit, a dual-LCD instrument cluster, keyless start and access, a garage door opener, an auto-dimming side view mirrors, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, remote start, the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and voice recognition, an 11-speaker audio system, 10-way power heated front seats, adaptive HID headlights, and LED tail lights.
Stepping up to the Reserve I trim adds premium 18-inch wheels, ambient lighting, genuine wood trim, leather, and navigation. You can add 19-inch wheels, magnetic suspension, a heated steering wheel, a power moonroof, a 14-speaker Revel Audio system, and heated seats for the rear.
The top-spec Reserve II trim bundles the 14-speaker Revel Audio system, multi-contour heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a rear power sunshade, and adaptive headlights. Options include a 20-speaker Revel Ultima System, LED headlights, and a retractable panoramic glass roof.
As far as safety, the MKZ Hybrid comes with a comprehensive list of standard and available features to keep you safe. A reversing camera, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beams, rain-sensing wipers, forward-collision warning and assist with pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist all come standard on the Base grade. Reserve I throws in adaptive cruise control with traffic crawling. The Reserve II gets an enhanced parking assistant system that includes front sensors. The MKZ Hybrid has not been crash tested, but the Insurance Institute for Safety (IIHS) gave the non-hybrid MKZ top scores for crashworthiness and crash-avoidance in 2018.
Even though it’s at the end of its life, the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid pairs sophisticated looks and plenty of features with outstanding fuel economy for the luxury segment. But the best draw is that Lincoln doesn’t charge a single cent for the MKZ Hybrid over the regular MKZ, leaving no reason not to go green.
